Gastroscopy - On-Farm

This is the only definitive method to diagnose stomach ulcers on the farm. Mobile gastroscopy allows for immediate and convenient imaging of your horse’s stomach.

Colic

Abdominal pain, or colic, can range from a mild tummy ache treated by medicine and time to a serious intestinal twist or blockage requiring immediate, life-saving surgery. The cause could be almost anything: weather or food changes, stress, dehydration, recent foaling, and more. Regardless of the cause, colic is a painful situation where speedy attention directly impacts the prognosis.

Ulcers

Stress, transport, competition, and herd changes can lead to a buildup of acid causing intestinal irritation creating lesions or holes in the stomach. It is estimated up to 80% of boarded horses suffer from this problem. These irritations lead to weight loss, poor performance, loss of appetite, and colic. On-farm gastroscopy can identify ulcers and direct the appropriate treatment.
